Exactly one year after in August 2008 the war broke out between Russia and Georgia, many issues remain unresolved. South Ossetia and Georgia’s other rebel state Abkhazia unilaterally declared independence and tens of thousands of Georgians are still displaced. Since last week tensions are raising around the rebel state, with accusations of ‘provocations’ between Georgia and South Ossetia, and Russian troop expansion in the region.
