Yuschenko won third round

Massive demonstrations in Ukraine after the unfair presidential elections of 31 October and 21 November forced the parliament to approve reform bills, which paved the way for a third round.
The 26th of December brought a victory for the democratic opposition candidate Viktor Yushchenko, who garnered 51.99 percent of the vote. His rival Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, won 44.19 percent.
Yuschenko declared to go for a different Ukrainian future and wishes to see Ukraine part of the EU. He presented a four point plan to realize this. However voices from within the EU are not very positive about offering Ukraine prospective membership.
